New doll in the shop!
This is Yrnwood! He is a Hognose Imp. Yrnwood loves to eat and will chomp on fingers when he’s hungry! Luckily his bite is pretty soft and he usually lets go immediately. Usually. His favorite thing to eat are toads but he also likes ham. It’s going to be tough to send this guy to a new home, he is my favorite doll i have made lately.
This is a handmade, one of a kind piece of art. The face claws are an original sculpt cast in resin that is then hand painted. Each cast piece is sealed with clear coat. The body is a soft, non articulated floppy style stuffed with soft polyfill and heavy pellets to weight the butt for easy sitting. High quality thick faux fur body.
Glass eyes. His elbows have flexible rubber spines. His tongue is also flexible rubber and is removable. Yrnwood also has spots on his face that glow bright purple in the dark!
This doll’s necklace is made from African amber chunks, jasper, moon opal glass, sea urchin spines with an awesome brass Naga talisman pendant. Every one of my dolls comes with a signed and dated etched wood tag.
These dolls are meant to be petted and cuddled a bit but please treat them with care. Wipe the face or paws with a slightly damp cloth to clean any scuffs or dust. They are not rated for young children!
Yrnwood is 10” tall seated.
Once this doll is sold out, he is gone! I do not take commissions for dolls or any other custom artwork.
Do you remember this post from Miss Monster, Melita Curphy, a while back? (because you are all following this talented lady probably) Well, I got him! It was me! I am the obnoxiously proud owner of my very own hognose imp. I have been quietly following her art since I was in high school and I remember thinking how cool her monsters were then. And have you seen them now?! (yes because you are all following her blog, obviously) Truly amazing!
Well, I’m turning 25 tomorrow and I was going to buy myself a nice art print with my birthday money. But then this guy showed up on my dashboard and I made a change of plans. You only turn 25 once, right?
